Who we are
University Commission exists to strengthen and expand gospel-centered ministry on college and university campuses. As a collaborative think tank, we are developing resources, training pathways, and support systems that empower students and leaders to live out the way of Jesus in academic environments. Our initiatives include The Journey App, designed to guide personal and group discipleship; a podcast and newsletter network that shares stories, insight, and practical tools; a Gap Year missionary program that places young adults alongside campus ministries; and Micro Campus Churches that form spiritual communities where students live and learn. We believe this work cannot be done alone. Through prayer, partnership, and the collective conviction of those who believe the gospel belongs on every campus, we are calling and commissioning a generation of students to know Jesus deeply and make Him known.
Meet our Director - John Leis, MAPMin
John leads Campus Ministries for the Washington Conference, coordinates ACF ministry across the North Pacific Union, and directs University Commission. He has spent over ten years investing in students and campus leaders, helping them discover Jesus, build spiritual community, and live missionally in the university context. John is committed to developing tools—like the Journey App, training resources, and micro-campus-church models—that empower students and faculty to make disciples where they learn and work every day.
